Nkosi Yearwood, staffer for White Flint, announced today that the Montgomery County Planning Board will hold its next worksession on the White Flint Sector Plan on Monday, April 13, 2009, at 7PM in the Silver Spring auditorium, 8787 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring. The Planning Board does much of its work on the Sector Plan in worksessions organized around topics. The topic was not separately announced for the upcoming meeting; only that it is a “continuation” of the March 30 worksession (which was itself a continuation of a prior session). At the time the Board recessed on March 30, it was hearing from community associations which wanted to comment on the presentations by property owners and developers.
On the agenda for presentations were associations from the Luxmanor, Randolph Hills and Fallstone communities. As Friends of White Flint Co-Chair Evan Goldman pointed out in a post earlier today, two of the community residents who intended to speak may not be able to reschedule. So it is not clear what else the Board will take up. In the past, however, the Board has invited the White Flint Steering Committee to participate in the worksessions immediately following the presentations, and that may be the logical next step. Stay tuned!
