Smile! Bridge Work On Montrose Pkwy next week

The new Montrose Parkway interchange underneath Rockville Pike is progressing, with an anticipated completion date sometime in the fall of 2010, according to the State Highway Administration. The new bridge overpass on Rockville Pike is about ready for use, and that means BIG shifts in traffic patterns.
For the next two weekends, motorists can expect massive traffic issues as first the southbound and then the northbound lanes are shifted onto the new bridge. The southbound lanes are due to shift first, beginning the evening of Friday, September 11, with the northbound lanes the next Friday and weekend. There will be detours, signs, and construction blockades.
