This morning Friends of White Flint released its Report to the Montgomery County Council on the White Flint Sector Plan. The 49-page Report explains the background and purpose of the Plan, describes White Flint and the Plan to change the area from a sprawling set of strip malls and parking lots into a modern, transit-oriented, walkable and sustainable community, and offers twelve recommendations for improving the Plan. The recommended improvements include accelerating the renovation of Rockville Pike, adding a new intergenerational community center, providing more pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly sidewalks and more. The Report will be delivered to the Council at tomorrow’s Public Hearing on the White Flint Sector Plan.
