Why White Flint Wins Awards
We’ve noted on the blog that the White Flint plan was recently awarded the 2013 Sustainable Growth Award for Smart Growth Community by the State of Maryland. As part of the process, the Maryland Sustainable Growth Commission produced a short video on what’s happening here. Check it out:

I know, this won’t win $52 for me but I have a comment.
1) Where transportation improvements were really needed were around NIH where every day is a terrible traffic jam during the rush hours.
2) How do you think, the older people will go without their cars (if still driving) around White Flint area? Do you expect them to bike?
To wait for the busses and climbing on them is not that much fun and perhaps more problems than it is worth it. Also, taking a car up/down Rockville Pike to go to a grocery store or similar could take them 10 minutes and taking a bus could take them hours.
