There are two important upcoming meetings in which you might want to participate. If you want to have input into the creation of the White Flint 2 Sector Plan and learn more about the many upcoming transportation projects in the White Flint 1 sector, these are the meetings to attend. (Friends of White Flint will be there, of course, and we’ll advocate at the meetings and report via our blog what transpired at the meetings.)

  • A public meeting on the White Flint 2 Sector Plan will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 7 9 p.m. at Luxmanor Elementary School.

The meeting will begin with a staff presentation from Montgomery Planning and then break into small group work tables, where we will examine and discuss various plan elements including:  land use and density; connectivity; public facilities; and open spaces within the WF2 Sector Plan area.
Please visit the WF2 project webpage for additional information, including their excellent September 17 presentation on how to address school facility concerns in the Walter Johnson High School cluster.

  • Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host a White Flint Transportation Open House, Monday, October 19, 2015, 7 – 9 p.m at Walter Johnson High School Cafeteria.

The meeting will begin with a presentation on the ongoing White Flint Transportation Demand Management Study.  After the presentation, there will be staff available at tables around the room to collect comments and answer questions on various White Flint Infrastructure projects, including White Flint road projects, the parking garage under design for the Conference Center, the separated bike lanes being designed for Nebel Street, as well as information on several Commuter Services and programs like the ability to sign up for Smart Cards, Senior Smart Cards, Parking Apps, etc.
