We’re hearing lots of great buzz about Java Nation, the coffee shop/restaurant that’s taking over the old Addie’s/Helen’s space on Rockville Pike. Owner Simona Cabana tells us she’s renovating the building and adding more outdoor seating (which could be tricky, since it’s unclear what’s going to happen to the burned-out shell of nextdoor neighbor Hank Dietle’s). This will be the second location for Java Nation, which has earned an avid following in Kensington for its top-notch coffee and European-style menu. Cabana says she’ll be baking bread and pastries in-house, roasting coffee beans on the premises, and offering a full bar including signature caffeine-infused cocktails. (Espresso martini, anyone?) The menu will be a mix of American, European and Latin cuisine with an emphasis on Peruvian dishes. Doors could open as early as August.
