Java Nation, a Kensington fast-casual coffee shop serving fresh coffee, breakfast foods and sandwiches, will likely open its second location by the end of this year in North Bethesda, its owner says.
Simona Cabana, the café’s owner, said Friday that she thinks the future North Bethesda location will be open by the first week of December, following Thanksgiving weekend. The site will be on Rockville Pike in the former Helen’s on the Pike location.
Cabana said the new space will be three times as large as the Kensington location, which is in a shopping center near the intersection of Connecticut and Knowles avenues. Daytime hours, she said, will feature a similar menu to the Kensington location with counter service. There will be table service with larger entrees in the evening.
Cabana said there will be a patio in the front, with entertainment such as live music. She said the new location will be dog-friendly and there will eventually be a dog menu.
