The Bicycle Master Plan Team of the Montgomery County Planning Department invites the community to comment on their preliminary bikeway recommendations for the Montgomery County’s Bicycle Master Plan on their Bikeway ReactMap.
Users can view the map legend, review a brief description of bikeway facility types and add comments about the bikeway recommendations.

Greater Greater Washington wrote about how Arlington built a temporary bikeway using just tape, paper, and potted plants. You know, if Arlington can do it, why the heck can’t we do it in the Pike District? Let’s see firsthand how bike lanes will transform the Pike District.

On June 11, Arlington closed a block of bustling Wilson Boulevard for what organizers called the Active Streets Festival.

The Montgomery County Planning Department created a new website for information on the bikeways throughout Montgomery County. The website is complete with information on all existing and proposed bikeways, including shared use paths, bike lanes,  signed shared roadways, hard surface park trails, and cycle tracks and a great interactive map.
