Summer House Santa Monica is planned to open this Thursday. This California-inspired restaurant will be in the Pike & Rose development, adding to the already wonderful places that exist. Summer House Santa Monica is attached to the Stella Barra Pizzeria, which is planned to open in February.

As the first big redevelopment to see the light of day, Pike and Rose has become a great preview of things to come in White Flint!  When I’m out in the community, I’m most often asked when a few key restaurants are planning to open.  While updates are always available on the Pike and Rose website, here are some for you now:

La Madeleine will be opening at the corner of Grand Park Avenue and Old Georgetown Road, across the street from Del Frisco’s Grille (which is now open), in late December or early January.

In addition, Pike & Rose has recently announced the opening schedule for many of their other stores and restaurants.

Even despite our best efforts at advocacy and watchdoggingness (that’s a word, right?), we periodically find that things are not exactly happening according to plan.  By “plan” I mean, the White Flint Sector Plan — that 90+ page document approved by our County’s Council and Planning Department and overwhelmingly supported by the community — which is guiding the suburban retrofit we’ve been working toward.
