Winter Beer Garden Saturday, February 9

You won’t want to miss The RCA Winter Beer Garden held at the RCA Civic Green at Randolph Hills Shopping Center, Saturday, February 9th, 3pm to 8pm.

During October’s Placemaking Festival, the RCA was approached by True Respite Brewing Company to partner with them on a winter beer garden festival. The RCA board were enthusiastic about making this idea a reality. With the new firepits, furniture, and trees in place, the brewers and the RCA saw the green space on the edge of the Randolph Hills Shopping Center as the perfect place for such an event.

The RCA is excited about this new partnership, as it is a fantastic opportunity to pick up where the Placemaking Festival left off. The fire pits and awesome furniture are still on site at the corner of Rocking Horse Rd and Boiling Brook Pkwy, begging to be used for another exciting festival.

So mark your calendars: on Saturday, February 9th from 3pm to 8pm, come have a beer or two or three with your neighbors around the fire pit. In addition True Respite, 7 Locks Brewing, and Cafe 2020 Korean Kitchen + Bar will also be at the event and the RCA will set up a tent selling warm beverages, such as Hot Chocolate.

So bundle up, bring the family, and come enjoy the crisp winter air.  RSVP at

The Randolph Hills Shopping Center will be the site of a placemaking event in October. The Randolph Civic Association is collaborating with the owner of the shopping center, Montgomery County Planning, the Better Block Foundation, and local businesses to reimagine the Randolph Hills Shopping Center over a weekend. From October 8-11, there will be community led design and build activities. This will be followed by the grand opening and placemaking festival from October 12-14. The lessons learned from this placemaking event will help inform permanent designs. Before the event, we are requesting your input through a survey.

They are encouraging broad community input so that they can make this event successful and inclusive. You can find the survey here:
