The White Flint Downtown Advisory Committee met last week for their monthly meeting, and here’s what they discussed.

Ken Hartman, Director of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Center, reported that crews have been working on cleaning up the medians and other areas in the Pike District.  He also reported that the Western Montgomery Citizens Advisory Board met at the Shriver Aquatic Center last month.…

Chair Brain Downie introduced Carolyn Chen, the White Flint Downtown Advisory Committee’s new manager.
Dee Metz gave an update on what the County Executive’s office is working on.
  • They are proceeding with the CIP process, and so far, there are no cuts to the White Flint projects in the CIP.
  • They are proceeding with the western workaround with construction due to start this summer.

Here’s what you missed:
White Flint Implementation Committee Meeting November 9
  • Saul Centers Phase 1 went to DRC.  It’s fundamentally in good shape with a few issues to fix
  • Pike & Rose Phase II recently submitted Phase 2b amendments with small modifications, mostly concerning the streetscape.
  • There’s a White Flint 2 Sector Plan meeting November 18 at 6:30 pm concerning transportation.

Don’t forget — the summer’s second fun-filled Grill Night is tomorrow, July 21 at 6pm at Wall Park by the Shiver Aquatic Center. Thanks to Gables Pike District for supplying the snacks, soft drinks, and paper products.
