Several people have commented to me that the FLOG has been a little “slow” recently. I took this to mean that there haven’t been many postings, as opposed to a comment on my mental abilities or on diminishing readership. Actually, on April 23, almost 240 people read the FLOG, a new record.
The reason is that I have been spending much of my “free” time (we’re all volunteers at Friend of White Flint) on an overhaul and expansion of our main website: www.friendsofwhiteflint.org. We have doubled the amount of pages, added a huge amount of new information, including pictures of many of the projects proposed for White Flint, and added a new on-line membership application (note: please remember that free memberships for residents and community organizations expire on May 11). Like any new and complicated project, there will be few bumps along the way, but we’re shaking things up.
The new website is scheduled to be “live” on Saturday evening, April 25. Let us know what you think! firstname.lastname@example.org.
[Update: 6PM White Flint time — the new web site is now live. Some functionality is missing, including pay by PayPal or credit card. We’re still working on this but it probably won’t be fixed until next week. Also, some links are broken; technical support in Mumbai tells us that this shouldn’t be happening. We know that. Sigh.]
