Busy Agenda for County Council

Busy Agenda for County Council

The Gazette‘s beat reporter for White Flint, Jen Beasley, has an article out this week on the upcoming Montgomery County Council’s busy agenda for the next few weeks: the Commercial/Residential Zone, an incentive-based attempt to encourage mixed-use development; the West Gaithersburg master plan, including the new Science City biotech haven; the newly-announced Kensington Master Plan; and, of course, the White Flint Sector Plan. In addition, the Council will consider the Annual Growth Policy.

All of which have lots of people working very hard. Nancy Floreen, the Councilmember from Garrett Park, which has its own issues to work out in light of its last election/referendum on growth, points out that “We will do what needs to be done and listen to what needs to be listened to.”

Plan on some late nights.
